Organ Transplant Timeline Tracker

Track your transplant journey from evaluation to recovery

⚠️ Medical Emergency

If you are experiencing signs of organ rejection (fever, pain at transplant site, flu-like symptoms, decreased organ function), seek immediate medical attention or call 911.

Phase 1: Initial Evaluation
Comprehensive medical evaluation to determine transplant candidacy. Includes blood tests, imaging, and specialist consultations.
Phase 2: Transplant List
Approval and placement on the national transplant waiting list. UNOS allocation based on medical urgency and compatibility.
Phase 3: Pre-Transplant Preparation
Maintain health while waiting. Regular monitoring, medication management, and lifestyle optimization.
Phase 4: Surgery & Immediate Recovery
Transplant surgery and initial recovery in hospital. Intensive monitoring for early complications.
Phase 5: Long-Term Management
Lifelong immunosuppression and monitoring. Regular biopsies, blood work, and clinic visits to detect and prevent rejection.

Understanding Acute Rejection

Acute rejection occurs when the immune system recognizes the transplanted organ as foreign and attacks it. This typically happens within the first few months after transplant. Early detection through regular monitoring is crucial. Signs may include fever, pain, fatigue, and decreased organ function. Modern immunosuppressive therapy has significantly reduced rejection rates, but vigilant monitoring remains essential.
